The Melee Classes – Their Strengths and Weaknesses and the Best PvP Builds For WoW PvP

The most important things in WoW PvP is to know your class. And your ability with that class and spec. Another great thing to learn is your opponent’s class and the spec he/she is. This is more difficult for some classes. Explicitly the caster classes, There are two ways to know your opponent’s spec one is to watch which spells they cast. The other is to assume that all mages will be a form of frost spec and all warlocks will be destruction.

First I’ll start with the warrior. The warrior is a melee class that wears heavy armor AKA plate. Their strength’s are plate, and their stances are battle stance, berserker stance, and defensive stance and their ability to charge intercept or intervene. Note: (no one uses intervene in pvp it might prove to be an interesting turn that your opponent might not know how to deal with). Your weaknesses are any class that is a caster. Your best spec for pvp is arms or tank. As arms you will spec something like (51/20/0) or (57/14/0). As a tank you will spec (12/8/51) I am working on a new spec for pvp tank I’ll get that to you all as soon as possible. Warriors are not as good as we once were. If you are a warrior you are a pressure class now. Our survivability is extremely low compared to all the other melee classes.

The paladin. Paladin’s dps is the powerhouse in pvp but not the arenas. Why is that you ask? I’ll tell you. All of your attacks heal you. You say isn’t that a good thing in the arena. Yes but you are vary susceptible to mage’s, warlock’s, and hunter’s attacks in arenas where you have a limit of 2v2 3v3 5v5 people and one of those three classes are in nearly every arena team. And in 5v5 if those three are on the same team along with a paladin healer and a DK, rogue, warrior, or feral druid. They will win unless you are in a counter for that make up. For arena you go holy. Your ret build is (0/20/51). These builds are outdated but they are still good and will get you in the ballpark for a holy paladin (53/18/0) (37/0/34) (49/0/22). Your strengths are that you are an overpowered class when it comes to pvp. All paladins ware heavy armor.

The rogue is one of the most common classes in pvp and arena. And the reason is you stun lock any and everything. That is your only purpose to stun lock however there are a few specs and people that don’t just stun lock. They use a different tactic hot and run or a tag team. You have so many specs. It is impossible to get them all. So here are a few (41/5/25) (17/0/54) (5/54/12) and there are more. My spec is (15/12/44) it is a hit and run spec. Tag team requires 2 rogues that know their class spec and how their partner plays. With two hit and run spec’d rogues with about the same name works well because they won’t know there are two of you and it is historical to watch and participate in. Your weaknesses are not being able to stealth and not getting a surprise attack, and if they know you are there they will call for help in the battlegrounds. And the opposite of those are your strengths being able to stealth and do a surprise attack.

The death knight is a great asset to any pvp or arena group. You are excellent against caster and melee classes. Currently you are the only one that can stand toe to toe with a ret paladin. Your strengths are your arsenal of melee, spell, and diseased attacks and your summoned undead servants. Your weaknesses are few if any. You are a well-rounded class against other melee classes. However, against a caster you are slightly over powered. Your spec is going to be frost or unholy. There are several forms of these specs (20/0/51) (20/51/0) (0/20/51) my build is (19/52/0) I have been running it for 7 months now with a re-spec for duel wielding when they made it better. Wares heavy armor.

Shaman drop Enhancement. You don’t have the survivability needed to be a melee class. Go Elemental or Restoration.

Druids are a great and well-rounded class. Switching between your forms is the where you get your survivability. You are also the most versatile class in the game. You are able to be a healer dps tank and caster dps. I’ll be hitting the feral combat here though. Your specs are (0/55/16) (0/60/11). You do about the same as a rogue. And it works great. You do not have a hit and run spec. Hit and kill is how you roll. Your weaknesses are anyone with a cc. That cant be broken by switching between your forms.

A descent place to get PvP builds is arenajunkies.com when and if they ever update their site. I use my own builds to fit the way I play and what I like to do in PvP combat. It is best if you can do this in my opinion.

WoW Rogue Leveling Guide – How To Power Level A Rogue

This rogue leveling guide will focus on things you can do to level your toon as fast as possible in WoW.

This class is a pure DPS class that only wears leather making agility a primary need to increase dodge as well as critical attacks that will help survivability and make killing faster for increased leveling speed.

The stunning attacks of rogues also help to decrease damage and ensure you can continue fighting as well as minimize down time. First Aid is something anyone playing this class should take up as well.

The rogue class has three talent trees that are all nice depending on the style of play one chooses to play.

The Combat tree is the best starting point for any rogue making sure to take Dual Wield Specialization and Precision to be able to attack effectively with both hands. Deflection will increase Parry against the many melee opponents you will face while questing.

Endurance is important as it reduces the cool downs of Evasion and Sprint which are awesome solo leveling talents. Finally Blade Fury will increase your damage which is a must particularly at low levels when trying to power level solo.

You will also want to make sure to take all 5 points in Malice of the Assassination tree.

Ruthlessness, Puncturing Wounds and Vigor are all awesome talents for leveling a rogue as quickly as possible.

Lethality will improve your critical strike abilities and damage followed by Vile Poisons as well as Improved Poisons for obvious reasons.

Fleet Footed will improve movement speed which is a must have for those wanting to level as quickly as possible.

These are just a few of the best talent points for this class and any great in game leveling addon will have them all built into their auto talent point features.

World Of Warcraft Paladin Guide – The Holy Warrior Of WoW

Let me begin by saying this is certainly not a full World of Warcraft guide on Paladins. There is no way you could cram everything this most versatile of classes is able to do in a few paragraphs. It is merely an overview that will hopefully give you a small window in the world of the paladin, the holy warrior of WoW.

Paladins are a class of their own. They’re said to be hybrids of warriors, Priests and other DPS classes like Mages or Warlocks. By the way, DPS means Damage Per Second which means a class which give out lots of melee damage or close combat damage.

Even if they borrow these specialist traits from classes who are better recognized for having them, the Paladin’s use of them is so powerful that they are probably one of the most difficult classes in WoW to kill and get the better of in PvP (player versus player combat). As a warrior myself I tend to really steer away from them as they are the equivalent of fighting another equally well armoured warrior that not only can heal him or herself but can also cast spells. That is awesome power and imo quite unfair.

So Paladins specialize as tanks by having in one of their abilities tree called the “Protection Tree” spells and learned talents which enables them to both take and give enormous damage to and from several enemies at once. Special spells here include “Holy Shield”, “Retribution”, and “Consecration” which all add up to give the Paladin well sought after tanking abilities which for some raids and instances are far superior to that of any other class.

The second tree and not necessarily in order of importance is the “Retribution” tree which is where the Paladin draws abilities that enable them to give lots of DPS or melee/close combat damage to enemies that are being fought against. Here abilities like “Crusader Strike”, “Seal of Command” make the Paladin an especially useful class to include in raids.

The third ability tree of the Holy Warrior is their healing power. Their healing abilities are especially attuned to give heals to different players in the game. On top of this they can fight making them healing warriors. This makes them probably the most versatile class for group play where they can both take the role of the Priest as healer and tank as warrior. Perfect for either job or as back up.

So there you have it, whether you fancy yourself as a healing priest, or a tank raging warrior or a DPS expert like a Mage or Shaman, there is no need to start up one of these classes when a Paladin does all three things at once. Also, this is a class that in WoW is highly effective in groups and ideal for all the end game activities like raids and large instances where the services of paladins are highly rated.
